Off-axis guider for 3” and 4” Wynne.
This is an OAG for 3” and 4” Wynne correctors where the CCD adaptor is replaced by a new system which contains a prism and allows connection to the CCD camera of choice.  The example shows an image of an FLI 8300 camera plus a CFW 7 filter wheel.  It may be necessary to send the parts to Starworks to ensure accurate realisation of the OAG.  We suggest the use of compact guide cameras such as the Starlight Lodestar or the SBIG ST-i.  Available on order.

Off-axis guider for the BRC 250.
OAG for the Takahashi BRC-250 which substitutes the original TKP 80100 and TKA 27113 with an entirely new support system for the prism and the CCD autoguider.  Placed directly behind the corrector to better utilise the corrected field.  Available on order.

Off-axis guider for the Canon DSLR

OAG for a Canon DSLR, very compact with a 10mm x 10mm prism and a back-focus requirement of only 15 mm,  Integrtaed bayonet mount and T2 attachment.  Contact us for more information.  Available on order.

Custom-made adaptors
Customizing the optical train is often the only solution for optimising the performance of the instrument.  By so doing it is possible to substitute superfluous adaptors and extenders which compromise rigidity.  All work is done on lathes and CNC mills, contact us for more information.

Primary mirror lock

Primary mirror locking system for Meade and Celestron SC telescopes.  Consists of a plastic ring attached to the primary mirror on which three shafts allow external locking.  Once the correct back focus is achieved, the mirror can be locked reducing mirror flop to zero.  Requires drilling the rear support and an external, secondary focuser.  Contact us for more information.  Available on order.

 

Cleaning and mount lubrification

After a certain period of time (around 3-4 years) every mount needs maintenance.  We thoroughly clean the mount, check for tolerances, substituting bearings if necessary, lubricate all parts with high quality grease and then re-adjust the worm to the correct tolerance.
